EMDR Sessions, Intensives, and Information

‘Talk therapy’ is a great and helpful resource/tool, but sometimes we may feel stuck once processing has been completed and ask ‘what do I do now?’ This is where EMDR comes in hand, to help with alleviation and distress tolerance. Distress tolerance refers to, “a person's ability to manage actual or perceived emotional distress.” Emotional distress is experienced with anxiety, grief, trauma, negative self-talk, etc., which EMDR can help with. EMDR targets specific memory and networks in the brain to help resolve/decrease the associated symptoms. This is an evidence-based practice that has been in practice since 1988 and has shown efficacy with treating trauma. (https://www.emdr.com/history-of-emdr/)
